Know About Shaft and Shaftless Trommel Screen

Trommel can be divided into two types, one has shaft, another without shaft. According to different materials or real working environment, it’s better to choose the appropriate one.

Trommel screen without shaft:

In general, screen is installed in a horizontal angle. The drum can be driven by motor wheel gear or chain wheel. The rotation speed is slow and length of trommel screen is long so that material can be screened totally. Shaftless trommel screen can be installed cutting tool so that can tear up household garbage and other plastic bag. Generally, shaftless tromme screen is widely used to screen materials with small density, such as wooden chips, rubbish, activated carbon, fertilizer, chemical material and so on. 

Trommel screen with shaft:

Generally speaking, the device is installed on the frame in a inclined angle. When the materials are fed into the device, due to inclination and rotation of drum device, materials on the surface will rotate. In this situation, qualified materials will be discharge from outlet of bottom hopper while unqualified materials will be discharge from outlet of tail drum. Generally, it is widely used to screen material with large density, such as sand, coal,limestone and so on.
